The character is 15 years.  Evangelist Grace and Rev. Grace's 15 year old daughter, child prodigy, awarded a scholarship to college and is an active member of her father's church, very proud to be a church girl. LAMONT SPENCER | Male | Any Ethnicity | Age: 16 - 25

The character is 16 years and a gang member. A typical American kid who joined the gang after they revenged the murder of his father. Talent should be able to sing any of the following music genre: gospel, musical theatre, R&B.  Combat skill is a plus. 

 

MALIK | Male | Any Ethnicity | Age: 16 - 25

The character is 16 years and a gang member.  A rapper, gang member, has been part of the gang since birth, comical and lovable person, Lamont's best friend; rapping required. Singing a plus.

 

FRANK | Male | African-American | Age: 18 - 30

21 to 35 years old, Black/African American male or female. A leading gang member who lacks courage; when trouble arises, he disappears. Talent - gospel, musical theatre, R&B.

 

DAMON | Male | African-American | Age: 18 - 30

Black/African American male. Malik's older brother, an ex-convict and gang member, leader of the gang, he's evil, and charismatic, recently released from prison. Talent will be physical in the musical.   Rapper is a plus.   Combat skill is a plus. 

 

MR. SPENCER | Male | African-American | Age: 35 - 50

35 to 45 years old, Black/African American male. Lamont's deceased father, he appears throughout the play as a spirit guiding Lamont. Talent - gospel, musical theatre, R&B.

MRS. SPENCER | Female | African-American | Age: 35 - 50

Since the death of her husband, she has become very depressed; doesn't know why God took her husband, has neglected herself and her son. Talent - gospel, musical theatre, R&B.
